On New Year's day, 2010, suffering from writer's block, I decided I'd spend 30 nights in the same bar and write about it. Here's the rough journal of those nights. When I came up with the project, my math was a little off, and I didn't realize until much later that for 2 of those 30 nights, I was actually scheduled to be working overnight in the hospital. I decided the practice of daily writing was important enough that for those nights I'd write about the hospital instead of Mimi's, so that's where the entries entitled "Interlude from the hospital" come from.
